The Minnesota Lake Project or MLP is a personal project/challenge to see how many different lakes I can visit in Minnesota. It was started in the summer of 2014, so all lakes prior to that are off the record and I chose to start from scratch. There is no timeline or time goals for me because I devoted myself to simply make this project about having fun and enjoying my time exploring different places.
Growing up I always enjoyed lakes and that is something that I have never grown out of. In fact that was the first thing I ever started taking photo's of when I dipped into the midst of beginners photography. While my interests may have expanded, I still remember where my first passion lies. Many of the lakes and places I travel to are on my bike so I get to see more than simply the lakes that I visit but rather everywhere in between. One of the first things that I noticed when I began looking for these bodies of water are that some of them are not accessible or only have private access to so therefore there is no chance of photographing all of them in a certain area, but I am planning to go out and hunt down as many as I can.
Feel free to watch the journey from the front porch, buckle in the passengers seat or even take the wheel and bring me around to see some new sights. The updates will hopefully be periodically through mostly flickr and a bit of instagram. I am still taking time to photograph other things and explore as places as well, because balance is such a key aspect to having a healthy lifestyle, too much of anything can be damaging.
Let's have some fun.
